Hi all,
I am travelling to Aspen in Feb 16. My Virgin flight arrives at 06:30am. My connecting flight to Aspen is at 09:00 am with AA, terminal 4.. Have I given myself enough time to pass through customs... Flying J which I hope gets me to the front of the customs line. Cheers

Not sure what the MCT is at LAX but this seems way too tight. Especially when you're changing airlines (and alliances).

The slightest delay in landing and deplaning will see you miss your connecting flight.

Are they both on the one PNR or separate bookings? If the latter plan on rebooking a new flight if (when) you miss the connecting flight.

I agree with Hvr - although I'm a fan of the 'new' LAX, that wouldn't be comfortable for me.

9:00 am AA departure means at the gate about 8:20am, which means at security 7:50am (no priority unless you are lucky and get TSA pre check) and (probably) at check-in 7:40am.

So an 70 mins to de-plane, immigration, get bags (even if checked through), customs and walk T3 to T4 (10 mins). Entirely possible, but I wouldn't want the stress; with any delayed arrival, you would be toast.

Dam, not what I was hoping to hear. We are on separate tickets. Flying 1st class with AA for what its worth. Looks like I have to change tickets and take a later non-direct flight. Thanks for the advise. Cheers

Would a 10:30 am connection flight allow enough time ??

Well, I have just paid a whopping $650 change fee as the ticket was no refundable. I'm now on AA 10:55 am via DFW arriving in ASE at 06:00 PM. I also just noticed United has a direct flight LAX - ASE arriving at 1:30 pm. What would you do, book United and be a no show for the AA flight, or just stay put and spend half the day in the air??.
