Engine scare forces Virgin flight down

Flames were reportedly seen coming from the engine of a Sydney-bound Virgin Blue flight soon after take-off this morning.

Flight DJ1153 from Launceston suffered an "engine surge" after taking off. Virgin Blue spokeswoman Amanda Bolger said the pilots set the engine to idle and immediately returned to Launceston airport

Eeek! That would be a tad worrying if you happened to be a pasenger looking out of the window at the time. Sounds like all handled well by crew.
