My friends have purchased Economy Flex fares with Emirates for PER-DUB in December 2018, hoping to upgrade with miles.
Currently there is no upgrade availability. However Award J bookings are available on the flights in question.
They have spoken to Emirates and are on a cancellation list for upgrades. Alternatively, they were told that more upgrade availability MAY open up depending on sales.
Is it likely that more availability comes up closer to the flight? I wouldn't have thought so but have no experience with Emirates. They are considering cutting their losses and booking J elsewhere if not.
