Emirates to ban using power banks onboard from 1 October, 2025

I resemble that statement.

Regardless, the power sockets on 737s are very hard to reach. And Australian plugs are hard to insert without being able to see the socket, so fumbling with a plug trying to get it inserted backwards, upside down etc, reaching down to the level of your calf is not at all fun.

And many times when I have tried it and actually managed to connect my charger, the socket isn't actually working. I think these need to be enabled by the cabin crew for each flight? Maybe next time it comes up a dud I will ask them.

So, yeah, what with the seat back ones only giving 10W (or maybe even just 5W?), and the AC sockets not working, it pays to have a power bank with you. It will be sad if they enforce a policy prohibiting their use during flight.

[OT] I noticed on my JQ flight recently all the USB ports were inoperative at any time the seatbelt sign was activated.
