Emirates status match offer - if account registered in France

I'm interested based solely on the fact I could gift chicka a Gold membership. However, notwithstanding the lack of a postal address in France, the only flight coming up where she might need lounge access is a Jetstar one, and I'm not sure how the alliance works presently with them and lounge access. I assume it needs to be an EK-coded JQ flight, and it isn't!

Interesting.

They offer up to a Silver status match to anyone. I emailed my QF and Etihad details to them a few days ago and someone from their Australian office called me to inquire about my travel patterns, etc. - unfortunately I missed their call, twice!

Key takeaway - changing your address for this promo will not suffice, as they do actually qualify you as a lead before matching :).

Well, they pretend to. We applied as QF WPs for status match and they initially mumbled about silver but in the end refused any status match at all, despite having an upcoming EK F booking. Good luck!

What does qualify mean? What if you set up a brand new EK account with a French address before applying?

So you think:

1. Obtaining a Citi Prestige or AMEX Platinum Charge Card, AND

2. Buying a ticket from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia or South Korea, AND

3. Getting membership of Shangri-La Golden Circle

is easier?

Sorry, I don't think we live on the same planet!

The % of AFF members who have either of those credit cards is pretty high actually, so yes.

That was point No. 1 (but certainly ALL AFF members won't have those cards, which is my point!)

There were two other points to consider....?

You were the one who made the bold statement that your method was easier, I wonder how many others are convinced? I am obviously not.

Can you explain what you mean by that?

I have a friend living in Paris at the moment. Was thinking of using his address.
