Emirates ... so much for Customer Service.

Reading about the experience, it seems that the panicked chaos is typical on most of the flights I have been on.
Apparently you win a prize for being off the plane first?:p

Have read this thread with interest. The OP was quite reasonable to write to EK but at this point may as well let it go. They arent interested. As noted, you may have had more response if you'd been clearer with what you wanted them to do / what reply you wanted, but at this point, they've taken the feedback and will either improve their management of similar situations, or ignore it. I know which one i'm backing sadly.

FWIW EK are on my parents "never again" list due to a sequence of terrible F flights Aus-EU and back. Note my parents are both QF Plats, and I might add are probably the least W WPs going around so they usually have a pretty solid tolerance for stupidity by airlines.

Over the past 30 years or so I have travelled with many different airlines. In the early days Qantas was airline of choice, safety, good services etc especially as member of Chairman Lounge! I wouldn't touch them these days nor would most of my friends and fellow travellers. After trying several airlines we have settled on Emirates as our airline of choice.

Having just returned from Europe with Emirates I can't praise them enough. the staff are always polite, eager to help and actually seem to enjoy their job. Inflight programs have great choice and if the system goes down they can actually fix it! Discussion with other fliers in the 'bar area' proved very interesting. Comparisons with Qantas Flight attendants was illuminating. "Not interested in job" "feel I am doing them a favour by flying with Qantas" etc.

Unfortunately the Emirates website is a nightmare and trying to change or, with their transport to and from airports, confirm etc is absolutely frustrating and annoying. They really don't seem to want to take phone calls or if you do get through can be obstructive and unhelpful made more difficult when trying in French!

Still after over 24 hours of travelling and arriving in a reasonable state Emirates wins hands down!

I believe you will always get good and bad flights.

I am not convinced of Emirates safety. The incident in melbourne still haunts most people that realise how close that plane got to ditching in a mellbourne suburb.

I think Qantas has imporved remarkably over the years, in many ways, since corporatisiation.
