I wasn’t sure whether to post this in the Qantas or Emirates forum, so my apologies if it’s in the wrong place.

I am looking to fly ADL-DXB-CAI out then AMM-DXB-ADL home, There is J Classic reward availability on DXB-ADL I’d like to access. Would be paid Y for the rest.

It is possible to do this on one booking, as QF Multi City only seems to allow paid fares in the one class?

The only way I could seem to make to work was to try and book ADL-DXB return in Classic J via QF, and then the ADL-DXB leg was offered as Y since J wasn’t available

I then had to book DXB-CAI and AMM-DXB as a Multi City via EK directly

Is there a better way?

If not, it is possible to link the 2 separate return bookings AMM-DXB and DXB-ADL, so my bags are checked all the way thru, as it’s only a 4hr stopover in DXB and all on EK metal?

Thanking you all in advance.

Just saw this post. Its a tricky one, and the limitations of the Multi-City booking page are often posted about - it has certainly caused me a lot of problems over the years.

Your best bet might be to call Qantas and book it that way - they shouldn't charge you a fee for this as it is pretty hard to do it on the website.

If you need any help with the land parts of your trip then yell out - I've lived in Egypt and am pretty well versed with the place, and have also caught the ferry from Nuweiba to Aqaba and return.

Thanks for your response.

I ended up booking the ADL-DXB return, as rewards seats were in very short supply eg. I managed to nab the last J one, and I was scared at the thought of having to wait on the phone for hours if I called up.

I haven’t done the rest yet, but presume I probably can’t amend the booking to add the DXB-CAI and AMM-DXB sectors in the middle?

Did you have any thoughts on being able to check my bags all the way thru on the way back?

A call centre may be able to help with adding the sectors to the existing booking, if not then at check in at AMM if you show them both bookings they may be able to tag the bags through.
