Firstly apologies if this has already been asked, nothing came up in my search though.

Anyway, travelling CDG-->DXB-->BNE with a fair stop at DXB. I was hoping to use up some of my stock of Silver and HSBC single use Qantas Club cards during that DXB stop. Can I use them, all flights are QF #s.

When I booked these flights in November last year we were meant to be going through SIN, where Qantas has its own lounge where I could use them no worries. With the new EK deal it appears that I am being disadvantaged?

Sadly as its not a QP that is the case, the passes won't be accepted.

Nothing's been enhanced. It's always been the case that QP passes can only be used at Qantas owned lounges.

Yes, but pre EK deal, (when I organised this trip) we were transiting through SIN where I would have been able to use them.

And if you travel through SIN you can still use them ;).

[SUP]*[/SUP]Ohh, that's right, its not quite so easy to transit SIN on a QF fare to Europe any more ...

You could call up and explain the situation, the worst they can do is say no.

Had some free time so spent what felt like most of the afternoon on the phone with no success. The Qantas Club section said there's nothing they could do, and suggested I ring the reservations section and change the flights so as to route through SIN or HKG, which we all know is difficult at best. Anyway rang reservations and the (very helpful) Keith's supervisor would not change the flights to go through a QF operated lounge. CX, BA and AY all had suitable flights available but no dice :(

I've come away from this a bit disappointing in the way it has been handled. I paid a high(er) price for a Qantas ticket, in the knowledge that I would be able to lounge en-route and that has now evaporated in no way due to my own actions. Oh well, I'll be voting with my feet ;)
