Anyone else been confused about emails from Emirates’ chauffeur service Around London ?
A month ago, leaving Mel, we got 2 emails about our LHR chauffeur booking, one from Addison Lee with a link to their website that didn’t work, and another from Tristar which was just a confirmation. EK staff in Dubai couldn’t do anything but assure a car would be waiting, and one was. So all good.
Then yesterday, before our return, the same thing - 2 emails, each with the same EK booking code and again the non-working Addison Lee link to their website, and one from Tristar.
Well, it turns out the two companies work together. Our driver to Heathrow (Ad Lee) explained that both companies were originally owned by Carlyle who sold both outfits just pre-Covid. Good timing hey..
Addison Lee, the larger outfit, was sold back to the son of the founder, don’t know about Tristar, but Tristar - which holds the master contract with Emirates - elected to keep their EK share arrangements with Ad Lee, presumably to ensure they have have help servicing the giant acct that is EK.
4 or 5 Daily A380s, each with 80+ potential limo passengers is a lot of limo’s..
So if you get 2 messages about yr car don’t panic. And if you want to phone one or the other limo company to modify or check yr car booking, you’ll see that the 3330160841 number is the same for both!
