Homer,

This seems to be the case with QF all to often.

Well, I'd rather take this over getting useless Velocity staff every single time  GRRR!

Saga continues - checked again, suprise points from flight still not there.

Velocity call centre person: 'Oh yes we see you lodged the claim, that should have come through by now, Emirates are hopeless, let me put you onto the guy who does Emirates' 5 mins later.... 'Sorry he is busy, can he call you back?'

Me: 'Well that was supposed to happen weeks ago so sorry if I don't believe you'

Velocity call centre person: 'Well it is Emirates fault you see, anyway I guarantee someone will call you back before close'

Unsuprisingly, no call back.

Virgin Blue service is normally reasonable when you aren't routed to the Philipines... but Velocity is just hopeless. I'm sick of them blaming other airlines - guess what I don't care just fix it! GRRR... will start typing up a formal complaint letter RE: cough service.

Vent over!

Sorry to resurrect and old thread, but going back to original discussion about EK J & chauffeur transfers, I will be taking my first EK J flight (MEL-SIN) this week, significantly cheaper than either SQ or QF.

Now I was going to book the chauffeur transfer service online, but it seems the latest you can book is 3 hrs before departure. Which for me, 20 mins or so from the airport is quite a waste of time, I was thinking more maybe 1:45 would be about right (on my last intl departure ex-MEL...11:20am I left home at 10:05 and still had 20 mins in the lounge :D - although I don't want to do that this time).

Anyone had any experience with EK chauffeur transfer? Will they allow later pickup if booked over phone?

I use the chauffeur drive service whenever flying EK and, like you, we only live about 25 minutes from the airport (though in SYD). I've never had any problem specifying the exact time that I want to be picked up but then again I've never made an online booking - it has always been over the phone through my TA. And even after the booking is made the chauffeur company still calls the day before and you can make a last minute adjustment if necessary. So maybe make the booking online and then change it with the company directly?

Thanks Homer, I'll definitely opt for the phone booking then and see what is possible.
