Emirates

It’s never been a better time to fly with Emirates. Now you can check in 30kg for Economy Class, 40kg for Business Class and 50kg for First Class*.

And it doesn’t end there. If you’re a Skywards Gold or Silver member you can check in an additional 16kg or 12kg respectively*.

*Excludes travel to/from USA, Canada, and Brazil, where allowances differ. For more information, customers can use the baggage calculator on Emirates.com to check baggage allowance tailored to their specific route.

With most legacy carriers introducing lower baggage allowances and LCCs charging extra for eevrything it has to make Emirates airfares look more appealing.

On some routes in some planes maybe.
But i am amazed they dared to increase, i guess they also calculate most people do not exceed 20 or 23kgs anyway.

Add that to the fact that EK cuts out the need for a third flight with their range of destinations, it becomes more appealing

Yes I'm sure most don't. I wonder too, if they also can cut out a few check in staff here and there ;) Those that do go over in weight seem to spend a disproportionate amount of time arguing with (and wasting time of) check in staff and other pax.
