I heard something about sometime next year you maybe able to use your Emirates FF points on Qantas flights??? If so how will the calculate the points will it be 1 emirates FF = 1 Qantas FF? Will we be able to transfer all our Emirates FF points to our Qantas FF points?

i doubt there will be any transferring of points happening.

you will likely be able to book flights through your existing program on the alternate carrier.

It is likely to be the same as any other partner award under the EK program.

We are booked on Jetstar and were hoping that the merger would mean we could use some points to upgrade to Starclass.

Upgrades on partner airlines are rarely available.

I believe the relationship is between EK and QF and does not include JQ in the relationship. So it quite likely that EK Skywards points will not be able to be redeemed for awards on JQ flights anyway. Though it is possible they may allow redemptions using the QF codeshare flight number that exists on some JQ services.

There has been further information about this released recently by both QF and EK. It's important from a rewards points earning and spending perspective to understand how the new rules work and the implications for your own situation.

One thing I'm unhappy about as a Citibank Emirates Platinum MC holder is EK has increased the number of Skywards points required to purchase a ticket, to the same as QFF. e.g. MEL-SIN-MEL with EK was 45,000 points and on QF 60,000 points. Now both require 60,000 to redeem the same ticket.

You don't need to repeat the same post 3 times to get a point across...
