Hi all,

Quick question, hoping someone might be able to help.

A friend of mine booked a ticket for himself and his gf at the time, but since then they've split and we were going to use it for me to go instead. He booked an EK flight as a QF classic award. As name changes are only permitted on QF operated and QF coded flights, he can't change the name to mine.

Would he be able to split the booking into 2 PNRs, cancel the award and then rebook it? Not sure if anyone has any experience with how quickly EK seats might go back into the system. Would the agent be able to do this right away?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

Splitting the two PNRs shouldn't be a problem. However, there is no guarantee that an award seat will be returned to award inventory when cancelled.
