Rumor this morning is the proposed A380 into Perth on the 1st of May has been delayed to the 1st of July.

Apparently the delay is the lounge for first class passengers is not ready

Wouldn't be surprised - everything else being developed is behind schedule. The international terminal right now is a disaster and the VA terminal is also way behind schedule.

They only need a joint lounge as there isn't a dedicated first class lounge for EK outside DXB. But with anything in Perth it doesn't surprise me.

We pay macadamaia nuts but we still get monkeys in Perth

The reason doesn't make sense to me. Don't they have F on the 777's now already?

Is there to be a direct connection between the lounge and the aircraft, a la DXB and BNE? That could be the delay.

One reason that was passed is their current lounge isn't big enough for all the J and F passengers

Still getting all the EK advertising for a May 1 start on the WA today website.

For my parents sake I hope the absolute latest EK starts the 380 service is the start of July.

As an aside, for example if someone flys BCN-DXB-PER, and attains PS from the first flight, will any status bonus in points be applied retrospectively.

I'm scheduled to fly May 3 PER-DXB (J), so I am definitely hoping there is no delays to implementation.

So tell me about the experience.... do they have the J & F lounge operating? and is there a double deck airobridge in place yet, or is that still being constructed....

Bearing in mind it was a month ago, but the lounge was definitely operational (single shared), and double deck bridge was in use. No direct boarding from lounge though, not sure if that is what is going on behind the partitions.
