I'm trying to up my tier and am ~10k elite miles off and figuring out a route that'll get me there.

Are elite miles earned based on distance flown, (ie you fly 10,000 you get 10,000 elite miles regardless of fare class) or is it based on the fare class you book?
Does the 25% elite bonus apply to elite miles as well or just redeemable miles?

Cheers!

They are based on the distance flown, and then a multiplier is applied based on the fare class booked.

The 25% bonus is just for redeemable miles.

Thanks for this! Handy to know.

When I use the krisflyer calculator and enter a route such as SYD-HAN (which goes via Singapore) it returns an amount of 9656 miles, however if you do them segment by segment, ie SYD-SIN and SIN-HAN it returns 10556 miles.

Can anyone confirm if miles are earned per segment of a booking?

Cheers!
