Eligible sectors when Family Pooling is used

I guess plat does give a bit more to FFers, but in Mrs 777s case, wouldn't gold suit her down to the ground? Still gives lounge access for her and young +1, still gives priority check-in, some luggage, priority boarding, SCs and bonus points, in fact as much as I'd like the 4 upgrades that plat gives, I myself am happy with the level of service gold affords me, however the DYKWIA in me would dearly love a plat card to flash about the place :-), but most importantly the gold reqirement of 4 eligible sectors would be met by Mrs 777. Problem solvered??

Yes, and it's fine for us as i'm not pooling to her anyway - we are going the partner gold/ partner plat route which (on the face of it) is more expensive in status credits but nullifies the requirement for sectors flown. Plat, if she gets it, will simply mean more upgrades on family holidays (and possibly more family holidays to take advantage of it).

We stuck with this approach because i was basically committed when Family Pooling came in - i was well towards partner threshold. However for next year i would consider pooling to her after threshold is reached but the BIS requirement will make that a little less likely.

Is there anyway to request info from the Virgin rep on this?
I'm in a dilemma whether I need to family pool or not based on whether eligible sectors count for flights flown and pooled or only counted if flown and not pooled, or thirdly will they count for the person you are pooling to?
We'll reach the SCs but maybe not the sectors. So I'm trying to plan the next 9 months of travel based on how sectors will be treated...

Any update on this "Eligible sectors when Family Pooling is used"...If my +1 and I take a return flight, and all her pts and SCs are pooled to my account, will I then have 4 eligible sectors?

Since the 'eligible sectors' counter started working a couple of weeks ago, my count of eligible sectors reflects only the number of sectors that I have flown. Flight I took with my wife have only been counted once.

In short, no.
I requalified Platinum in Jan, and since then I've pooled all my flights to Mrs D-H to get her to Plat which she achieved in March (from about 700SCs starting point from mainly Intl travel - I don't fly that much!)

Since getting to platinum she has flown 4 sectors, and I've flown multiple (25-ish) that have pooled to her. Her account shows that she has flown 4 and still needs to fly 4, plus however many SCs to maintain Platinum, so I strongly suspect that the eligible sector count results from BIS flying only.

Hope this helps/answers your question.
D-H
