Hi Guys and Girls,

Looking for a bit of help with regards to upgrading from Economy to Business class on Singapore airlines.

I have an upcoming trip from Adelaide to coughet via Singapore in October. I'm currently SG on Virgin (about to go plat) and looking to use some points to move cabins on at least one if not both the flights to and from Adel to Singapore.

I can move points from Velocity to Kris no problems, but am a bit lost with regards to how many is required to up grade.

On the website it mentions that Upgrade Awards can be redeemed for one-way or round-trip flight upgrades; one-way upgrades require half the miles needed for the corresponding round-trip upgrade. Like award flights, the types for upgrade awards are :

  • Saver Award (45,000 Points)
  • Standard Award (70,000 points)
  • Full Award (165,000 Points)

I have already paid for a flexi fare but am at a lost to what each levels gets me from the above awards and which one i should choose..

Any help would be appreciated

Saver is the cheapest, as best option for the upgrade, but obviously they will be taken first.
You need to log in to the SQ website and click the upgrade button under the my booking section to see what is available. (I would never used the full award)
If saver is not available then they may also get released closer to your flight aswell. or you can ring customer service and they may be able to get one released, or at least wait listed
