Hi all,

I am new here and found a lot of useful info. Thanks for all of your that kindness contribution of tough and view.

I am intend to use my krisflyer points for business saver class awards, unfortunately it shows Waitlist. Am thinking is that alright that i am confirm the economy saver class awards first and at the same time waitlist for business saver awards? What is the procedure, and will i be asking to pay the confirm economy saver first? If yes, when the business saver available, am i alright to cancell the economy tickets? Will there be any charges?

Sorry for so many question, as i am really in doubt, and this will be the first time for me to redeem krisflyer miles.

Thanks.

I don't know.

If there are seats and you book them, you pay the tax immediately and points are deducted immediately. You can only cancel award bookings over the phone. They are cancelled immediately. There is a fee of USD30 to cancel. Funds returning to your account can sometimes take weeks.

Points also take ages to be returned to your account. It is helpful if you are not relying on a points refund to appear in time for when you want to grab a business class seat.

Good luck.

thanks polly. seems like i need to think carefully before i book the tickets. to redeem 4 tickets in j, seems like a bit tough..

4 seats in J is indeed a bit tough! It has been done though.
Otherwise, you may have to split the flights in to two and two

As pollywaffle says, you can waitlist in J, then book and confirm in economy BUT if the waitlist is successful you may not get your economy points back in time, to confirm the J seats.

Good luck!

thanks duffa. i believe only if my fly date is off peak then possibilities are higher. i might just go for economy when fly out then redeem in j when come back.:)

If you can fly out in J and come back in Y. To me, its better to start your trip with a bit of comfort and then come home tired but where you can rest in your own bed :)

I'm the other way....At the begining of a holiday, I'm in a good mood, anticipating a good holiday so can tolerate Y....just; coming back, I feel down and depressed, and with the thought of going back to work, a nice relaxing flight in J can offset these thoughts!

I agree.

The only time I would consider otherwise is the amount of luggage I will have. If I've shopped a lot (which is often) then the benefit of a larger baggage allowance with a J ticket may be the way to go.

Thanks for posting that info Cruiser Elite on how a cancellation works.
I booked a school holidays Suites run for my niece and SIL and the vacation time did not get approved.
Now that is job sharing not working too well. It is a $26,500 retail value of booked flights that are to be canned.
Getting points back will be the nicest part of this failure.

FWIW I cancelled a Suite Saver redemption at 8pm last Fri Feb 8 and KF pts have just reappeared in my account this eve - 72 hours to redeposit.

I should have already made a booking but naturally because I am eager, my points have not been returned. :-(

I'll give them another call tomorrow.

i am also concerning how long the points will credit back. for 4 tickets..points does matters...

But 24 or more hours being confined in Y meaning increased chances of DVT, that good mood for a holiday can turn into a very sore start to one, very quickly :p

There is no evidence that a pax in Y is more at risk of a Dvt than a pax in J or F

Yes kpc there are more than 5 times the number of folks travelling in economy so we hear more DVT issues because of the weight of numbers.
One of my friends has needed daily treatment to fix a DVT issue and the issues are still not fully resolved after more than 14 days.

I can recommend compression socks available from most pharmacies. Not only the prevention towards avoiding DVT but they actually make me feel better after a long haul flight.

Of course, exercise and movement are important.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I wore the compression thingys to Los Angeles because a stockbroker friend got DVT last month. There is no prize for exiting life in a foreign land.

Hi All,

Hoping I can get a guide for a Business Saver flight I am waitlisted on, from Perth to Bangkok via Singapore in 2 weeks time.

I processed the booking on Monday and was wondering, based on experience, how long it would/ could take for the booking to be confirmed. It is on the 2am flight out of Perth so hoping that may mean seats could be available. Plan B would be to book economy seats but as I have points available, Business is my preferred option.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Cheers
