Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me how Earth Plat calculated points or where can I check the points calculation?

Last week I got my first statement from Earth Plat, Total spending in the billing cycle are: Amex: $6404.29 MasterCard: $125 (Annual Card Fee)

On 21NOV my QFF account was credited as below:
21 NOV 08 EARTH MASTERCARD CARD 21NOV08 - - - 20,367 -
21 NOV 08 EARTH MASTERCARD CARD 21NOV08 - - - 1,000 -
21 NOV 08 EARTH AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD 21NOV08 - - - 12,431 -

That's totally confusing. Can anyone read this?

My guess:
12431 is roughly double of $6404.29 (2/$ instead of 3/$ as discussed in the other thread)
1000 could be the compensation of miscredited 15000 point (As discussed in 15,000 free point thread)
20367 - 20000 could be the sign up bonus, but where is the 367 from? So far I never spend any cent on Earth Master.

I think the 367 belongs with the 12431.

Hi everyone,

21 NOV 08 EARTH MASTERCARD CARD 21NOV08 - - - 20,367 -
.

Well based on mine where I received 20,212... the 212 was exactly the amount required to make up for having previously had points awarded at the rate of 2 rather than 3....with the 20,000 I am assuming being the sign on bonus.

Based on my experience I'd guess 367 is 1 point per $ for your October spend.

Probably, I just checked my statement, from 24OCT to 30OCT my total spending is $366.74. However, on 31OCT I also made three transections which are $30+, $70+, $2000+. I will see what's going on my next statement.

Hi
I've just got off the phone from Westpac Earth Amex about my points which don't up add to the 3 points per $ spend as the the promo. The reason for my compaint was that I was not even getting 2 points per spend as reported in members in other posts.

Firstly I put in a complaint via their website last week and I was issued a reference number along with a contact number (which I rang today).

I was advised by a very informative CS officer that everybody on a Earth Platinum card was getting 2 points per $ spend for purchases up till 13 November, with the remaining 1 promo point to follow the following month.

This has since changed.
Platinum card holders will now get the standard 1.5 points per spend for all purchases showing on their statement from 13 November onwards to their QFF account a few days after stmt end date (as normal) .....with the remaining 1.5 points awarded under the promo campaign to follow about 4 weeks later.
Previously it was 2 points per spend with the remaining 1 point to follow.

This change came into effect from 13 Nov. So if your like me and had a statement which was part under old scheme and part after 13 Nov your points allocation won't 'add-up' unless the take the above into account.

I was advised that the promo additional points per spend isn't worked out by computer - but manually via a spreadsheet via your statement spending hence the 4-6 week wait for the additional 1.5 campaign points to hit your account.

Regards
kazda

I think Earth is making the point calculation more confusing. No matter how they calculated the point, they should issue us a clear report of how many point earned and how many point credited.
At the moment there is no way to trace the point.

Excellent point. Its just a mess at the moment with points calculation and I do not recall seeing any correspondence from Earth to explain the this whole saga.

Perhaps we are relying on Westpac to do the right thing with the points calculation. I still have not received my extra point from the pre-Nov 13 points allocation.

Why do they make things so complicated ?
