My understanding is that if you purchase the flight as a Classic Award you don't, but if you use points towards an Any Seat Award or Points + Pay you will receive points/SC.

One thing that makes finding a cheap ASA a bit more difficult is that the classic award availability includes the extra SG allowance, but many of the equivalent flights only have ASA's at the higher prices. Generally, log in as my wife to check NB availability, but there is a possibility that both my wife and daughter will make SG this year, so even that mechanism will be denied me.
Is there any other way to know which are ordinary classics and which are bonus classics?
