Earning points on AA besides by flying or CC spend

Ok...Amex Mileage rewards virtually doubling their redemption's rates now means that one can by spending on an Amex Maximiser now earn just over one AA point per $ spent.

With the attractive AA burn rates this now means that the AA program is a lot more attractive for moving CC points to for flights...and in particular from people who may not be able to direct many points from flying to AA.

So what means are there to earn points on AA by Australian based AA members apart from flying and Amex or Diners spend?
  • I know of points.com for 100 points (useful for keeping your account active - you need an activity every 18months or less to stop your bance being wiped)
  • Signing up for the AA newsletter on line (or at least this used to earn 1000 points as a once off)
  • The Live Search Club Live Search Club where you can play games and earn "tickets" to buy AA miles. Again not large but good to keep your account active
  • Some car hire if you are overseas
  • occasional games on AA where small amounts of bonus points can be won.
So what other ways are there to earn points?

I have been asked to complete a survey where after many email exchanges they have finally posted the bonus points for taking the survey.

You can also earn points on hotel stays, vacations and cruises booked through AA plus all the local US bonus partners like dining.

Just note that for car rentals from Avis, Budget etc you only earn 50 AA miles per day.
