Hi All,

I'm after a guide on how to earn frequent flyer points (Australian related information).

I know there is the ones offered on this site but is there any others out there that you know of? Are the ones offered on this site worthwhile?

Maybe ones that give a review of Credit cards with FF Programs currently available and best ways to maximise points etc etc

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

No actual guide that I know of. Best option is to frequent the bulletin boards, this site and FlyerTalk probably being the best. In FlyerTalk, concentrate on the Qantas forum.

Thanks for the reply. I thought there might of been some around like the ones for sale on this site but I guess not.

Cheers

You might be interested in having a look at the Ebay auction site...

There is a character there, who is selling 'guides' on earning FF points.

To get to it, just 'search' for "airline tickets"....

I'd be very sus of the deal though... whilst he gives his location as "Tasmania"... he is charging $US10.00 for his 'guide'.

Also, it is "emailed" after payment is received.

There's no need to spend money on a guide when you can get up to date and accurate information for free. thadocta has given you the link to Flyertalk - with all due respect to this board, FT is the best repository of frequent flyer information there is. Moreover, if you have a specific question you can post it and get advice from a bunch of genuine experts (and a few who are not-so-much, like me!).

This board (AFF) is also useful because there is a core of FTers who post over here, and the volume is much lower than FT so your posts won't get lost in the noise. For a newcomer FT can be a little intimidating because of all the FT specific jargon, but on the Qantas forum they (we) are very welcoming. Just don't ask how to get upgrades on Qantas without using dollars, points or status credits!

AFF is probably actually better than FT when it comes to credit card info, since it has separate fora for them. I also get the feeling that many FTers fly so much that they don't have to worry too much about maximising the points they get from elsewhere.

I guarantee that any information being sold on ebay will be vastly inferior to the information you can get for free on FT and, increasingly, here. This is one of the few exceptions to the adage "you get what you pay for."
