Hi,
I'm flying from Broome to Darwin in a couple of weeks on Airnorth.
I finish a cruise at 0800 and the flight leaves round 1330.
I assume I check in at the Qantas counter .
There are not many QF flights out of BME only one at 0920 and then the next is mine at 1330.
I would like to checkin and drop off my bags early and then get a taxi to town .
Has anyone had the experience of being able to check in at the same time as the early flight or did you have to wait until lunchtime?

BME is such a small airport I'd be very surprised if they accept bags early, but you can always try. If not hire a car for a few hours and put your bags in it:p

Air North is not a subsidiary of Qantas. They are their own airline with their own livery and facilities (unlike National Jet who fly for QantasLink). They are a codeshare partner which is why you may have been booked with a QF code, but that doesn’t mean it’s a Qantas Flight.

As such A) you check in with Air North, not Qantas
and B) This post doesn’t belong in the Qantas forum.

However, QantasLink are launching DRW-BME services in late October.

Thank you for your prompt advice.
I did check the Airnorth website Check-in
It states that pax at BME use the Qantas checkin as opposed to the Airnorth checkin at most of their other ports.
Is it now ok for me to keep this post in the Qantas forum?

You'll be very lucky if they allow the early drop. Can't hurt to have a crack though.

The times I've been on that flight there's pretty much been no-one at the counter until about 90 minutes before departure. Which has severely limited lounge time. Not that the lounge is anything special

Thanks.there may be baggage lockers at BME or I guess I could leave bags at cruise Co’s city office , if there is one.

Can't say I've ever seen baggage lockers there, but I can ask my daughter to go and have a look if you like!!

I'd go with the cruise company's office for sure IF there is one. Most of them just run out of the Tourist Bureau.

Update.
No early checkin as expected.
There are baggage lockers at BME in the admin building very nearby.
I did ask the QF agent if we could use the QF Lounge but apparently you must have a boarding pass to access it .

True, but you can OLCI on your phone?

Ta for that but, ? because it is an Airnorth service , my app won't allow me to checkin .

Fair point. Even if you did have BP they could deny access as the lounge is only open "1 hour prior to each Qantas service"
