I searched the threads on this - nothing I could see. The QF web site does not seem to have info, and the Heathrow website similar!

Anyone know how early you can check-in at LHR T3 for QF10 to MEL?

Pretty sure it is 3 hours Last time I was on 32 I think I was a little before that as traffic was good early

Search International Check In Times on QF web site that has some helpful info

Cheers Keith

I've checked in 4.5 hours before QF10 departed and I had no issues...
It's always hard, I find, to check out of the hotel, even at 3 or 4pm with late checkout, to find something to do for a few hours before the flight at 10pm. I suppose I could find a nice pub somewhere, but hey, why pay for beer?

What's more there are no non-airside lounges at LHR as far as I could find - I'd be happy to pay to get into one where I can work (with wi-fi), but it seems they don't exist!

A call back to AU to the WP customer service line indicated the 'official' earliest check-in is 4 hours before departure, so I'll probaby have to hang-out in a bar someplace at T3 with my luggage until 1730  when I can check-in (or 1700 according to Dr Guiness!).

SIN has early check-in which is handy...:)

Because the Green Man, which is under the approach to 27L offers views no lounge can ;)

I tend to leave the luggage in storage in my hotel until I need to get back there and pick it up, and have a bit of a walk around or just do something relaxing for the afternoon before I head to the airport, with a plan to be at checkin between 3-4hrs prior to departure (enough time to get a shower before departing).

This falls down if the hotel is in a terrible location.

I guess if you're checing out at ~4pm for a 10pm flight, by the time you crawl to Heathrow, it wont be that long a wait for checkin!

Another win for the HKG city check-in that I wish more places would copy.

You used to be able to check in at Paddington before boarding the Heathrow express.. Not sure if you can or not anymore

How odd that you can't use this flying BA!!!

I can only assume that neither QF or BA wish to pay the fees to Heathrow Express demand for the service offered...
Pity as it may have solved my problem...

In the meantime, I'm now considering Yotel at T4 for the day. see yotel dot com (must have 10 posts or more to post links it seems!!!
Albeit a small room (by the hour) it comes with WiFi and privacy and a secure place to leave my luggage - just need to do the T4 to T3 shuffle later in the day.... Somewhat less than late checkout at a city hotel and I'm at Heathrow at least...:(

Pity QF does not allow check in in the morning as QF32 leaves in the morning so they are there at the check-in counters...

When I used it, it was a proper check in desk which did your luggage. I think now it is like a checkin kiosk for your boarding pass. No bag drop

Here's a mini TR with a post on the LGW Yotel - very similar.

Yotel London Heathrow

Here's a mini TR with a post on the LGW Yotel - very similar.

Thanks Sefty - indeed the Yotel does what it says on the tin! A very compact room with everything including good WiFi and nice bathroom (+ 'cabin service' for food)...

It worked for me - albeit at a cost. The Yotel premium cabin is very comfortable for working or sleeping - by the hour! Advice is, I would definitely go the premium cabin - more space generally and for luggage

On the earleist Check-In time - another call to QF London number today (answered in AU it seems) provided yet again conflicting info on earliest check-in time for F class on QF10. They advised 3 hours - yet the FF WP line advised 4 hours - get it right folks. There is no info anywhere on the QF site about this (after extensive search).

Message for Red Roo:
(1) - how about putting the info by airport/flight on the web - save your PAX (Sorry customers nowadays) a lot of dicking around to get the info
:(
(2) - Why is it only 3 - or is it 4 hours when your people are at LHR for QF32 check-in etc anyway!

How about I ask them for you when I check in tonight?

Well the answer is:
F class check-in at T3 for QF10 opens at 1630. I asked the young lady there when I checked-in at 1710 - she said they always get there early for F class....

It would be bloody useful if this info was available someplace OTHER than when you go to check-in.....

The WP custmer service had it wrong, the UK customer assistance number (answered in AU) had it wrong, and the result - pure inconvenience to the customer!

After 40 years of international travel - this is the knd of stuff that hoses me off... Simple (yes), but its not available on the web site anywwhere I could find and none of the cutomer service desks have the correct info...

C'mon QF - you can do better for premium customers...

If you don't want to tell the world - fine - but create a separate area on your web site (when you login as WP or P1) that provides this info - not hard!!
