Hi all,

Appreciate the help in advance. Mum has to fly for work in a couple of weeks and has been booked PER-SYD-SCL. Her corporate TA seems to not like her much and has her flying the PER-SYD as the red eye and her company is still making her work her 7am-7pm shift on Saturday beforehand.

She wanted to know a couple of things:
1) Could she drop her bags in early on Saturday morning? Or do QF block bag drops for international connections until a certain time.
2) If she does do check in and bag drop early morning, would she also be able to do seat selection for the SYD-SCL flight? Shes hoping to snipe one of the solo seats in Row 5 if she can, it's blocked for her online.

Thanks in advance guys

I don't think it would matter whether there's an international connection or not, the question is how far in advance will QF in PER accept bags for checkin. A lot of other cities won't accept bags until 6 hours prior to the flight.

Can your Mum get a copy of her company's travel policy? Generally Corporate TA's are only going on the instructions given to them by the company.

It's pretty unreasonable IMO to expect an employee to work a 12 hour shift then take a red eye flight connecting on to a long haul international flight. I hope they don't expect her to work on the day she arrives as well.
