I see AAEagle using new E175 instead of CRJ900 for their regional flights LAX-DEN.

Any opinions on E175 vs CRJ900?

I have heard that gate check will mean pick up gate checked carryons from carousel rather than airside.
Also the overhead compartments are larger?

The E175 aircraft are newer and in my opinion nicer. I don't know about the overhead lockers but I would imagine that, if anything, they would be bigger on the E175. :)

Are you looking at F or Y? If F, its 1/2 in the ERJ, so plenty of overhead room IME.

Couple of photos of the E175 in F from my latest trip are in this post. I found it very comfortable.
