The show starts in a few hours, and like all things in DXB, big is big, so expect the show to start with a big order!

could even be an order from EK for 50 A380s according to some on airliners.net

Why is Boeing all smiles ?

They lost a flagship Japanese customer to the A350 and there will be heaps of A350 and at least one, if not 2 A380 orders

The 787 is still having software problems

Yeh EK might buy 100 777X and another airline maybe 30-50 but Boeing is not smiling about much at the moment

I think we'll see a lot of launch orders for the 777X as you would expect with announcement of a new type. There'll be much less interest in a350, a380 etc orders as the novelty factor is low.

LOL, 787 orders now over 1000:
@BoeingAirplanes: Pleased to kick off @DubairAirshow with @EtihadAirways order for #Boeing 25 777X, 30 787-9 and 1 777 Freighter! #777X #DXB13

I think the models also give a hint:

@StratAero: @BoeingAirplanes #DXB13 #flydubai #737MAX #Emirates & @qatarairways #777X launch... http://t.co/a1bNHZsHRi

Not sure what is funny Boeing lost JAL that was a big stuff up

Yeh as I said there will no doubt be 787/777X orders, but there will be many A350 orders as well, A350 currently has about 800 orders from memory

764 actually, which is closer to 700 when you have a close look at the airlines, ie Kingfisher, Alitalia....

Just 1 freighter? It's like they were at the supermarket check-out, and picked up an extra bag of sweets on the way out. :)

I did have the same thought, does seem like small change, Boeing introduces the freighter free checkout isle :D

I think they are smiling:

@BoeingAirplanes: All #Boeing 737 customer @flydubai announces commitment for up to 100 737 MAX 8s, 11 737-800s @DubaiAirshow! #737MAX #DXB13

@StratAero: @BoeingAirplanes #Emirates orders 150 #777X - not much of a might there

@BoeingAirplanes: Congratulations to @QatarAirways and thank you for commitment @DubaiAirshow for 50 #Boeing 777X! #777X #DXB13

Making up for the JAL loss a few times over

However the A350 and A380 and A320neo will have some big orders too!

All the above have been predicted orders so far, I'd love some unexpected ones for Boeing

Looks like they are on the money:

@ATWOnline: RT @ATWMoores: Emirates orders another 50 Airbus A380s at #DBX13

Really surprised there are routes left that can handle 4 burners in that number.

Could easily send a few more to AUS, plus EK will start getting rid of their older A380's starting in about 5 years

LOL at some of the size of the orders from the middle east carriers. Starting to look more like a pissing contest than a sustainable business (or reminiscent of the huge Red Herring and Indonesian narrowbody orders of a few years ago).

Unless something changes I can't see all those orders being honoured.....

Having spent 5 1/2 hours in Row 1 of a Qatar 787 yesterday, Iam hoping Boeing get a lot more orders. Great Aircraft.

Here's a UAE take on the Emirates orders
AviationBusinessMe.com | Airlines | Emirates orders 50 A380s and 150 777-Xs

Draw droppingly large at $99 billion all up. One wonders if the Al Maktoums said 'lets see what we can get with $100,000,000,000'.

Boeing all smiles today (presumably Airbus not tearful either) but possibly they are not smiling so much in Seattle, according to another gleeful report from the Gulf
ArabianTravelNews.com | Airlines | Boeing may look to the MidEast as plans for Seattle 777X rejected

Cheers skip
