Duplicate booking

Does anyone know how long a cancelled booking takes to be removed from 'the system'?

I cancelled a multi-leg J domestic so i can rebook with double status credits, but it's still telling me it's a duplicate booking. The original flight is no longer listed in my velocity account, and my travel bank has already been credited.
 
This has also happened to me previously, but I found the way around it is to make a new booking for another departure time/date with the same routing at the same fare and it'll then allow you to change to the original flight...
 
I've found generally overnight it resets it's self. It's rather annoying and as a result when I've had to do it, I book the new one over the phone (never been charged a fee when I explain the error from the website).
 
Just in case anyone searches for the same thing in future... It didn't reset overnight for me, so I booked the same itinerary for a different date, then Manage Booking\Change Flight to the date i wanted
