Has anyone had any luck redeeming points for J seats on a direct flight from DXB-BNE?
I've searched and searched and cannot see a single J seat in 2016
There are some available for DXB-SYD, it seems they are released around 10 months out
Is there a reason that DXB-BNE is not available for booking online, am I wasting my time searching? I'm wondering if it is possible they are only available by calling?

Thanks Pushka, yes I was thinking if it is like BNE or SYD-LAX, they go the day they are released. Emirates release them a bit later than Qantas is that right, is there a specific time out they release them?
thanks again,
Mark

I think something like 330 days out? You can check by using the calendar to do a normal booking and see how far in advance you can book that. The rewards seats are released at around the same time. Good luck. I am finding it impossible to get seats to the USA :(

So many customers seeking award seats but too few there, always the norm.

USA award seats in J virtually impossible, of course you can get BNE or SYD to HNL return then choose which US city you'd like to go in or out of, sure opens up possibilities.

Another more expensive option is to go from OZ via HKG or NRT to USA or Canada and return via HNL (circle Pacific) can pretty much use daylight flights.

Yes, have been working on that Honolulu option, even flying J on Jetstar!

It seems such a waste of points though to redeem for J and not get a flat bed

Sure. But think of an economy seat and it seems much better.

Im using AA site (not for Emirates) and loads if availability to Honolulu for 1 pax but not 2. We will be travelling separately methinks.

I have been monitoring J award seats to the USA daily for a friend. I would say Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday are the best days, then Friday. Saturday, Sunday, Monday are bad.

I wouldn't waste points for a JQ Star Class award however I think that you need less points than for QF metal. We looked at purchasing Star Class however didn't want to pay AUD500.00 for the bundle on stop of the Star Class airfare to earn SC & points so ended up just buying a sale fare for AUD379.00 BNE/HNL.

We got an email offer a few days prior to upgrade to "J" for AUD300.00 for AUD400.00 with 120SC & approx 15K points which we accepted. Saved a few hundred dollars compared to if we'd bought Star Class at the beginning with the bundle.

Ex HNL whY is doable as it's a day flight so survivable plus never get jet lag as HNL & BNE similar time zones ie 2200 HNL is 1800 BNE so even though it's 20 hours behind you're still more in sync than Europe for example.

I have managed to redeem a flight Honolulu to Adelaide for 2. Next June. I will use AA points, current special to get Adelaide to Honolulu then Honolulu to Vancouver. Could the OP look at AA? Dies it have to be Dubai?

I would love to come home via Dubai. Does anyone think there is any chance of getting 2 J seats one way DXB - BNE ?
Unfortunately no AA points

No - you buy them to redeem for flights. Check out the American airlines thread.
