Hello, I have dual citizenship for Australia and Germany. My two passports are under different names - the German in my mothers maiden name and the Australian in my fathers family name. My fiance and I are going to his home town in England next month.
I plan to marry him (most probably during our 5 month stay in England but otherwise in Australia when we get back). Do I need a visa to marry him in England, despite being a German citizen?
Also, having my German passport in a different name to the one I use in Australia, will my then-husband be able to return to Australia with me and later gain citizenship? He's already obtained and used a student, working and holiday visa so really, if our marriage is not acknowledged due to my two different last names, he won't be able to return to Australia with me. Will the different names affect his probability of getting a spousal visa?
Also, if I am in need of a Visa myself, am I able to get that once I get to the UK or must I arrange it before we fly?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's proven difficult getting any straightforward answers.
