Dual citizenship and travelling on non AU passport

What about dual citizens with different names on different passports . Some countries have strict and particular naming rules .
For example in Australia your name may be
“Jordan Geoff Diplos “
but your other nationality does not recognize middle names and first name is also slightly different for example
“Giordano Diplos”
You have two valid passports for both your citizenships .
What can you do in this situation particularly if you are flying from Australia to the country of your other citizenship ? How do you book the flight ticket ? This will become a potential issue once ETIAS goes for many Australians with dual EU citizenship

I guess we will see what happens in June 🤞
How'd it go? :)

I think this is where the system falls over. You really need to have your Australian passport in this case.
What about dual citizens who have a foreign passport and an expired or otherwise invalidated Australian passport or have never even had an Australian passport? Then, there is no Australian passport to link the foreign passport to. There must be a mechanism in the ABF Advance Passenger Processing system to allow for that.
I have dual citizenship. Australian and an EU country. And two passports.

I have managed to leave Australia on my EU passport when I could not present my Australian passport. At the time, my Australian passport was away getting a visa that took about a week or two to process.

I could check-in fine. But got flagged at passport control. After some explaining of my situation, I was allowed to travel.

I think it needed a valid explanation.
What was the process for check-in and boarding the flight back to Australia?
