In Sept a group of 4 of us will be heading back to Syd from Darwin. We are talking Y here!. All of us are silver or lower on each alternative. The sociable flight times are DJ 1354 & QF 843. I have read the basics re seat pitch etc. There is no great difference in price at the moment so the 2 aisles of QF have me leaning that way. Any comments from peole who have travelled this route or similar

As far as I'm concerned the bigger the plane the better, but that's just me.
Others on AFF love 73xs

I would take the wide body any day but there are other factors such as schedule and price.

I do this flight every 2 weeks. Maybe I am used to it and I can't remember the last time I wasn't in row 4 but you could maybe try for row 4 or an exit row? The last time i went home it was on a new 737 with personal screens so was good for a change. Otherwise you could always take the red eye and get a 767 (just kidding) although I am doing this myself this Thurs morning and it is a 737. I do think if you go via BNE it is a 767 also.

Take QF and have an extra 45 mins in DRW.

Also, with a 767, you can take 2 pairs of seats on the side. On a 737, I find the 3-3 configuration a little bit annoying for a party of 4.

SYD and ADL PM services go wide body in the dry, no need to go red eye for them!

Would take QF 763 every time unless prepared to stump for DJ "Blue Zone" seating.

Go on QANTAS Because they r better (in My opinion) and they give you food without having to pay extra as opposed to Virgin Aus where u have to pay more

whether or not you want to eat it is another question! the answer is simple for AFFers...which airline will give you better use of your status benefits and earn of points and status credits.

eg do you have lounge vouchers to use for either airlines, do you need check baggage, do you have a preference for earning points toward either program, are you close to achieving gold, can you route one airline via a connecting city to maximise points... :)
