Friday and time to come home. Checked out at 10 and a taxi to the airport. Then a 2 hour wait until check in opened. We were going to have a coffee and a cake at the little cafe just inside the door. But it was a demonstration of how flying brings out the worst in some people. no empty tables and only 3 had any body eating and another 2 with one person and a coffee. littered with luggage making it very hard to get around so we just gave up. Went to some seats just past the check in kiosks. Timed it right as quite a few vacated their seats as a QF flight had just opened check in.

As soon as our flight checkin opened we went to the bank of kiosks that had large QF signs at both ends and checked in for our VA flight back to BNE. Then to security. Seems like there is always a line at DRW security with only 2 lanes open for all flights. Several small children in front of us out of control so took a little time. Fortunately they were not on our flight. When we got to the gate there was an announcement that there was no catering on our flight, So we went to Roll'd and had some rice paper rolls.
The view from our table.

Then went back to the gate. Once again there were lots of people standing and a lot who were seated with their bag on the seat beside them.
Once again we were lucky as their was a QF plane at our gate and boarding was called as we got back to the gat. So we got the 2 seats closest tothe VA premium boarding lane. And our bags remained on the floor. No pre boarding but we were second and third on. Seated in 8C,D.

No dramas on the flight and had our free cup of water. Whee!
But once again noticed what flying brings out in some people. Noted that the majority of people in the last third to board were in window seats. Then the majority of people who got up to the lavatory were those in window seats. :(

Got into bne on time. Straight down to the luggage carousels, saw our driver and off we went witin 5 minutes of the door opening on the plane. Our third OS trip with only hand carry. It is a good feeling.

In exactly 3 weeks we are off again and actually on JQ BNE-BKK in their "j" cabin. Mai destinations the UK, cruise from Southampton to Lisbon and our first stay in Switzerland fo 4 nights. Also our first flights on QR J.

Thursday and our last day in Darwin. So what are we going to do? Well you all know by now. Yes back to Moorish for another late lunch. Mrsdrron had her carfe of wine and I had an Alice Springs beer.
