Back around March I asked advice on dropping the last sector of an CBR-SYD-LAX- SEA-ANC reward bkg. I instead wanted to use a seperate same day SEA-YVR.

To cut a painfully long story short, don't try this - fix it up before leaving Aus. I decided to risk waiting till getting to SEA to change things because AA said to drop the last sector they would need to reticket and they couldn't guarantee that the seats would stay available during that process (plus USD75). And as I had a cruise bkd, I couldn't risk it.

In SEA, Alaska Airways was an utter disaster and swamped by pax waiting and staff close to tears. The delay in getting to an agent was out of control and I and pax all around me were there missing their international and and domestic flts to various destinations and just being turned away with no assistance.
