Double VFF points thru shopandearn til 30 Nov

I have had points credit from iTunes but i believe there is a specific way you need to purchase.

I made a few purchases initially by just logging into velocity > clicked shop now > webpage opened saying my purchases were being tracked > redirected to iTunes webpage which then prompted me to open the link with the iTunes app > iTunes opened and searched for the product within the iTunes app > bought the product - NONE of these purchases have been approved and these were made over 1-2 weeks ago.

The other day i thought i might try it differently so i logged into velocity > clicked shop now > webpage opened saying my purchases were being tracked > redirected to iTunes webpage and instead cancelled the prompt to open the link with iTunes app > searched for the product via the website then from that page clicked view in iTunes > iTunes opened and bought the product - This purchase was approved with an email in under 48 hours.

I wrote to velocity asking them to clarify this. They replied back in 24 hours with some generic email saying how they love feedback and that i should purchase via the website and have cookies enabled, they can't retroclaim points yada yada yada... I replied back reiterating what i did and how any average consumer would think they still purchased via the website using the first method i did but haven't heard back since. I wasn't looking to chase my points, rather telling them to clarify and be a bit more specific regarding the purchase method.

Is the Shop and Earn website working at the moment? I keep getting errors alternating between a white "Sorry. An error occurred." page from the server and a 'the server stopped responding' message from my browser any time I try to login.

I predicted a while ago that there were would be a double points promo in May/June as they seem to do it twice per year (other time being November/Dec).

This is a very, very short promo period though - 2 weeks. Im pretty sure it was 6 weeks last year.

Don't expect any points to come through for at LEAST 60 days, but it is more like 90 or 120. This is one of the weakest parts of the Velocity program.

It was an iPad, for those wondering. All up the order was just over $900, so they've counted just the GST ex. part of the iPad cost, no GST (Which is normal) and none of the accessories (I assume this is normal...)

Also of interest is the email I received. It suggests 30 days, but I'm sure the usual VA caveats apply (Aspirational only, probably in no way intended to reflect reality)

Dear MR TOTD,

Our retailer, Apple Store Australia, has informed us that you made a transaction with them on 14 Jun 2013, and as a result you have Velocity Points pending, if you made this purchase between 15 June and 1 July, you have earned Double Points on this transaction as part of our End of Financial Year offer.

As soon as the transaction has been approved by Apple Store Australia your Points will be allocated to your Velocity Account within 24 hours. The time for approval varies by retailer but usually takes about 30 days*.

While you are waiting for your Points, why not take further advantage of our End of Financial Year Double Points offer available until the 1st July and do some more shopping?

EDIT: Should mention that this has only just happened and I've found Shop and Earn to be quite quick... Usually within a few weeks.

Not on that one, but chased a few others in the past with generally negative or generally lacking results (big example was a Dell order that would of been worth about 5k points that got "lost" at some point. Got 200 in goodwill I guess...) so just sort of just didn't worry about it for the most part, if it lands all the better But then given...
