Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

Thanks for your help! Q seems to have sorted it... so please help diesel CBR first

Must fly PER-east coast because QF has poor support for its PAX with international destinations ex-PER.

PS Had to do it that way because otherwise QF ONLY offers the red eye flight and we are too old to function on <3 hour sleep before int'l flight

The very last page. EVERY time out of 20+ times!
As far as I can tell the issue is travelling between two international hubs within Australia. I.e. ASP-SYD-AKL would be fine but MEL-SYD-AKL would not.
This also applies on the return journey.
If you can get a routing for it as a single flight that may be OK - but I'm not sure. As in, MEL-AKLxSYD rather than MEL-SYD and SYD-AKL as two segments.

Yep via Syd.
I put the two legs into multi city and it comes back with "This page isn't working right now"

I was able to see the flights and price in google flights but can't book it on Q site
OK I've got a clue what the problem is - but I keep getting this at the moment - lets give it 30 minutes and try again

Except that we just did similar for per-syd-akl and return...

It never ceases to amaze me when it works. Except, I can't remember the last time it did. Try using Adelaide as start point for international travel for an added exasperation.
Incredibly, I was able to use it to book an open-jaw trip in Asia this week. I fully expected to be on the phone trying to get the itinerary booked, but I have tickets in-hand and upgrade requests in where appropriate.

Yep. I have been getting that exact page for a couple of hours. Thanks for having a look for me!
What I think is the problem is that you are departing SYD, then coming back into SYD, then departing SYD again - I know from past experience that the system doesn't like this. I think that your two options are -
- book the NAN as a separate booking, or
- avoid SYD on the outbound to BKK by going through Melbourne -

It's not pretty but the only option direct to BKK with Qantas is ex-Sydney

Noting that QF codeshare on FJ will not get DSC (since this is the DSC thread...)

Thanks very much for this. Too many Sydneys! I will telephone in the morning to see if they can assist. I want to try and avoid booking NAN separately in case the BKK flight runs late.

Thankyou

Let me try something - two secs!

This is ridiculous isn't it!!??

I'd rather a long layover to, and take the opportunity to visit East Coast people on the way through o/s

OK if the phone service can't help you then maybe consider booking the outbound as one booking and the BKK-SYD-NAN as another to cover a delayed BKK-SYD.

One final question, booked my flights today, realised I didn't have the card I wanted to use on me, so paid the $25 to 'hold the booking'. I thought that held it for 24hrs, it's actually a month... I have a booking reference, just need to pay the balance (99.9% of the fare) by 26th of March... If I don't pay till March, this is still very much a DSC booking as it is booked in the period right...

I'm going to answer my own question from the terms and conditions and leave it up there for information and to shame myself for not doing my own research first:

Will I earn double Qantas Points or double Status Credits if I use ‘Book Now, Pay Later’ to make my flight booking?

If you book your eligible flight during the promotion period, you will earn the bonus reward regardless of payment date. You will not earn double Qantas Points or double Status Credits if you do not complete your payment on the advised payment due date. If you book your eligible flight outside the promotion period and pay for your booking within the promotion period, your booking will not be eligible.

Yes.

I just want to check something.

With the Double Points vs Double Status, is it just which ever you selected at the end?

Or can you weave different flights? I think my partner is well past Gold but unless she takes a Status run she wont hit Plat (estimated around 900-1000SC at anniversary). So I don't think theres any point in getting her more SC.

But after her anniversary there would be use for DSC.
