It is interesting that they are allowing this. The reason I was given for the promo was to encourage new bookings - if you have already purchased/received a voucher then that cost is already committed and the DSC is only acting as push to convert voucher to carriage. It isnt creating new income for QF. By that rationale they shouldnt be crediting for vouchers...

These are gift vouchers so it is in fact encouraging new bookings and it may be creating new income. My first voucher where I was credited double SC, was for a booking I made that was extra to my planed travel. So new booking that would not have been made. It was also for an airfare that cost more that what I originally planned for the voucher. Not to mention I have since purchased an extra voucher. Then as well having purchased a $50 gift voucher, I am not required to use that voucher. I might decide to not send good money after bad, in which case Qantas is not guaranteed to get the extra cash between the voucher value and an airfare.

I'm not sure how to rationalise double SC on the free flight voucher. But that is qantas service recovery the cost is their issue.
