Do you know if the points come back immediately? I have 200-300k in bookings and will need to reuse them to book. Don't want to miss out the flights if the points take a few days to come back.
That's definitely a way to do it - assuming the inventory exists to be able to do so.. which is not going to be the case on every flight.I just rebooked a couple of classic rewards, same flights, just started a new booking to make sure the seats were still available, then cancelled the previous and finished booking the new, all ticketed, probably did not need to redo, the credits won't do much for me this year, but only took a few minutes and the process was novel
