Hi everyone!

Thanks to the DSC offer, I'm hoping to retain Platinum for next year. My member year ends 31st October 2023 and because I don't know how much travel I'll be doing, I booked a trip from Gold coast to Auckland via Melbourne to get over the line.

However, due to reasons, I'll be flying on October 21, returning October 28. I understand I should get credited the status credits close to the day of the flights, but according to the DSC FAQ, it can take up to 8 weeks for the bonus status credits to come in.

My question is, given the extra credits will likely roll in after the 31st of October, should I be expecting to have to contact Qantas to fight a status downgrade? The way I see it, the flight and credits from that flight were in this membership year and the DSC are for a flight that was done in this membership.

Thanks in advance!
Michael.

Welcome to AFF @michaelgren .

This is a commonly asked question. Although the status credits may take a while to post, they will credit as of the date you flew, so your status will be okay. There may be a period where you appear to be downgraded, but the regrade will occur in due course, if that happens.

Is your flight QF87* in that range, or are you flying JQ?
If JQ, you need a bundle.
Hope its QF8 3 digit number, and not QF5***.
You probably know about bundles with JQ, but I thought I would just mention it anyway.

The 8 weeks is old language and dates back to when you used to be able to fly QF codeshares to qualify.

That is no longer the case, and as all flights are credited directly by QF for these flights, you'll get the base SCs almost instantly and the extra SCs usually within a couple of days. At the start of the promo it might take a week or two for things to kick into gear, and then it's quick thereafter.

If you didn't meet the threshold based on the double SCs not posting just call up the service centre and explain, most likely they'll manually force it. But it's very unlikely you have to do that.

Excellent, thank you everyone!

AustraliaPoochie: I got scared and had to check, QF881 + QF157 and QF152 + QF880, which looks okay!
