Out of curiosity what do these offer emails look like? Do they simply inform you the offer has been activated against your account and all qualifying bookings will automatically be eligible, or is it a link to the web site to register for the offer? If the latter can anyone post the link?

You have to register the offer.

The email subject line from Qantas Frequent Flyer simply looks like this:

Earn 50% more Status credits when flying Qantas.

Then the body of the message has this sort of thing:

Just to be completely clear, the offer is specific to the person and then you must register to activate it.
 
You need to register, though if you attempt to register without having been selected it wont work.

Last year I registered with the link and it worked but my email hadn't arrived yet, my email arrived the next day! :)

The fiance and myself have 186k points right now. Honeymoon in April next year we're looking to book one way economy to Hawaii then LAX, a series of AA flights around the US returning to LAX (Surprisingly cheap at about $1,000) and then back on 2x96,000 point JASA's via Brisbane. That needs 6k more points.

For the one way flight and intra-US flights the gold status would be very handy. So the conundrum is do I waste points now and do a few more cc sign-ups/direct as much spending as possible into points in the next two months. Or use the points to buy the JASA from LAX, and then hope I get enough surplus points before June to go for an end of year status run.

well, only you can determine the cost benefit to you of going for gold early, there is a great deal of benefit in having SG when flying in the US, heck even here in AU its worthwhile.
Getting those JASA's from the USA to BNE will be the hardest part of your challenge, you are going to need to diarise the dates and book the minute they open up. (See other threads on ASA availability)

Not interested - year ends Feb and already have Plat well and truly covered for another 12+ months.
 
Well no offer here for either of them. I did just get gold back so maybe that's why. Ah well! Would have probably tried for plat if I was able to.
 
FML.. i just flew to europe via qantas about a week ago & I am flying back to europe about 2 weeks after this offer ends, sooo annoying!
 
Seems there's two offers going around, 50% SC or Points and a 100% SC or Points.

Targeted, or so it seems but the URL for the 50% offer doesn't have any unique codes built into it. The page just asks you to select one, plug in your QFF details and you are registered.

Now to find the URL for the 100% promo!

In the past, I have received two of these

the first was when i was flying one way with QF and returning with VA.

Obviously, they could tell from my travel pattern that I was flying only one-way with them. Got to Plat for a couple of years

the second was when i dropped back to Gold, and they sent me an offer to see if that would get me up a membership level.

if you were to look up Eric Siegel hes the predictive analytics guru - incidentally IBM are hosting him for a complimentary keynote address on 11th March in Melb and then 13th March Syd about this topic.

The basis of the strategy is mapping customers into 4 categories, Sure things, do not disturbs, Persuadables and Lost Causes. with X and Y axis will customer buy if they receive an offer, will customer buy if they dont receive an offer... ..

you can find some brief easy to read articles at the predictive analytics world website, or if you care to check out the free keynote, search for IBM predictive analytics and the dates will get you to the info pages
 
Hmm didn't get the latest offer again, haven't had a specific offer for a while not, just the one that everyone got in Dec 13. Really want to make the run for plat before Aug 31st and just need 670SC to do it.

In the past whilst the URL might not be member specific the offer is linked to specific targeted accounts so whilst the link is in theory available to all entering a non targeted account number in the web page will result in a sorry but thanks for coming response
