Had a 50% offer yesterday for international flights.

Must be generic offer. DSC won't drive me to make a booking with QF at this point in time.

Nothing here either, but since my forward bookings for the year are locked in, no advantage to me in getting one.

I got a reminder about my 50% SC offer but I don't have time for an international trip right now, nor do I need the credits.

My guess is we will see DSC offers on 1st July after MAsa's have ended.

The last couple of campaigns have excluded them anyway, so I don't think that is a factor. It's more likely they are now 50 percent more campaigns, which of course is simpler and no doubt many would argue fairer.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Lounges overcrowded again?

AJ's plan is to reduce seat capacity across the network, the downside is that he loses the line in the sand. The upside is that the Lounges become quieter.

The end-game is to reduce passenger numbers to such an extent that they can fly on entirely on partner airlines, booked through the website that's available 2 hrs per week whilst picking up their toasters from the areas-once-designated-Lounges and now true QFF Service Centres.

No need for SCs since there's no flying to service for Status passengers. How much "simpler and fairer" can you get??

Job done!!

Regards,

BD

The whole point of the last 3 months has presumably been it was too easy to get status and costing the airline too much. The elimination of double status credits would seem an obvious solution to that issue.

I received a 50% SC offer yesterday. As I haven't flown much lately so haven't been keeping up to date I thought I'd look at ASA's but now realise they no longer get SC's. So then I thought of points+pay

Make your next journey on Qantas even more rewarding with 50% more Status Credits* when you fly on eligible flights with a QF flight number on your ticket.[SUP]^[/SUP]

This offer is valid when you register using the link below and make a new booking between 6 August 2014 and 12 August 2014 for travel until 4 December 2014.

As I haven't flown much lately so haven't been keeping up to date I thought I'd look at ASA's but now realise they no longer get SC's. So then I thought of points+pay. But when I look at the Award Types from the point+pay page I get this:
[h=3]Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Awards[/h] You can use all points or Points Plus Pay to book a Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award for any available seat on a Qantas or Jetstar flight with a QF or JQ flight number.

Then when I look at the fare conditions I see:
Qantas Frequent Flyer

  • Effective for travel on and from 1 July 2014

  • Qantas Points and Status credits may be earned on this fare and will be calculated on each Segment. For more information check the Airline Earning Table.
Talk about mixed messages!

If I start booking a paid fare and then switch to using points+pay, is it now classed as an Any Seat Award and so i won't get SC's??

Thanks

As far as I am aware Points + earns SCs and QFF points so should be eligible for the 50% bonus SCs offer.

Points plus pay is what QF is touting as an Any Seat Award. It really isn't, but since ASAs as the AFF community knew them have gone, we might as well all accept that P+P is an ASA. Either way P+P will earn points and SCs.
