I have figured out why I got 2 emails.

The 1st email was a reminder the sale ex-NZ was ending today, and it included a piece on the promo. The 2nd email was just about the promo and arrived a few hours later.
I received the former.

2 status matches with big bundle of other airlines & now 2 DSC promo's in short space of time, seems QF is very very desperate for ppl to fly....even though they are operating at 106% of pre-covid capacity! interesting.

I think their bottom line is still somewhat in pain.

On another note, why couldn't QF have an official poster to answer some of these valid questions throw up here. Surely someone in the large professional organization that has something to do with running these promo's could provide some assistance.

A shame that Red Roo was euthanised by QF. May not have run promotions but is a great loss to AFF. That’s what happens by doing too good a job.

One DSC was domestic only and the other is to/from NZ only. They are targeted at different areas of the QF business.

Isn't that their entire business atm, domestic & NZ.
Unless they offer DSC to freight!

The Australia domestic DSC was not available to NZers despite the bubble being about to open.

Purely looking at fares though, ADL - SYD at 6.05am and then SYD - ZQN at 11.xx (not sure about time), is quite good at $1184 in discJ.
Coming back though, its asking for $18xx!
All for Jul this year, probably they know they can gouge prices on the return, 06Jul out to NZ, and 09Jul back from ZQN - SYD, getting back to ADL before 8pm.

You've hit school holidays plus ski season.

So do we think the consensus is that if I cancel a booking and get a credit and then rebook with that credit then I won’t automatically get it but will have to manually fight for it?

Does a new booking with a credit trigger a new PNR with a booking date that will be within the DSC period (NZ do this for example when using a credit)?

Not automatically.

If you book with a credit/voucher it uses the existing PNR.

If your credit/voucher is not fully used and it allows for use of any remaining balance in another booking a new PNR is generated. (Note that many credit/vouchers do not allow this.)

Missed the sale by a few days and DSC by a week. 🥲

I have credit for a J flight to Tokyo. Was thinking it would be easy to use that credit to book J to NZ and have the leftover stored as credit for other flights according to the T&C's .

But No, can't do it online though and have to call. People reporting 5 hours and hanging up. was hoping my Gold status might get me on the phone quicker....

Took me 3hrs to get thru as bronze then day or so later as gold from status fast track took me 1hr.
Shell be right mate, ha.
best to call early morning though.

Yeah might try tomorrow morning. I mean surely it can't be too hard to automate credits either, in fact if they made more things possible online it would help with their current call times as well. I normally never have to call! Even my backup facebook messenger is failing, been two days with no response.

Edit: Took about an hour as Gold to get to the "Qantas Premium service line" or words to that effect, I wasn't paying attention and the guys accent was difficult to understand. In some ways people always wonder why I always fly Qantas and its because of the status. Airlines look after their customers with status (i'm sure even a silver will probably get through quicker than a nobody)

It makes things far easier than someone who books cheapest flights all the time and then wonders why when they make that small purchase of discounted seats to the Gold Coast, why they are on hold for 5 hours to change them :)

Hi Matt, following on our Points Club Seminar, is it worth booking a classic reward to NZ during this promo and still get the DSC? Bonus?

Just checking that this promo appears to include Free change of date.
I have to visit Wellington in the next month or so, but I don't know an exact date.
Was thinking of booking something close and when I know more, just change the date I fly.
May be a change in fee, but that is OK.
Or could I book something and then cancel for a DSC credit and rebook when I know more as it will be the same PRN, or would that put it outside the required 15th May booking time slot?
Thoughts on the best way to do this?

Unlike the previous DSC, it appears classic rewards are not eligible for DSC this time.
