Nice offer, but with points so easy to earn through CC churning and not having any lifetime status yet I'd rather use DSC offers when they come along.

Perhaps QF going some AB testing to see which drums up more bookings Double Status Credits or Double Points. I know what ive got my money on.

I’m not so sure - for AFF members the answer is obvious but for the population.... most don’t know what status credits are ;)

They've run double status credits and double points promotions for a few years. I'm sure they already have a good handle on the answers!

Fortuitous, thanks.
Registered , and the points will slightly ease the pain of paying through the nose for flights at -30 days….

Noob question... is this double the base points, or double the 'Tier' points?

The T&Cs are clear: "Bonus Qantas Points are based on the Base Rate which applies, or the Minimum Points Guarantee if applicable." You don't get any more Double points from having status, however you still get your status bonus (if you have status). So you'll get your normal serving of points; then later when the double points credit the double points you get would be the same number of points no matter whether you're a NB or a P1.

Conditions says "Bonus Qantas Points are based on the Base Rate which applies, or the Minimum Points Guarantee if applicable." so maybe you dont get bonus silver/gold/platinum bonus on the bonus.

Correct. The status bonus only applies to the standard points, not the double.

So say a NB would get 2000 Double Points from a flight, a P1 would also get 2000 Double Points from that flight. However the P1's status bonus would still apply to the standard points they earn so the overall number of points received would still be higher for the P1.

I rang QFF this am for clarification.
The flights need to be booked prior to midnight 5 march .
Does this mean they need to be booked and paid for by that time and date
or
only that they are booked say to be paid a few days later or whatever.
The lady still has to get back to me on this issue - at least she was honest to say she didn't know.
I am guessing that as long as the PNR is set up within that period , it would be fair to consider that the itinerary was booked then.
Any thoughts?

In the past it's always been tied to the PNR creation date but YMMV. It would be safest to make sure you pay during the promo period.

Even if things work that aren't meant to it's when they don't happen automatically that you could have difficulties challenging it. So best to play it safe.

For most people status isn't a possibility so they may want extra points.

A few years ago I made 3 double points overseas bookings in July for future travel and managed a good haul of points for bookings I would have made anyway.

QFF rang me today to confirm that eligible flights need to be booked and paid for by midnight tonight- 5 march 2018.

I managed to book 1 Syd-Mel return flight yesterday - but that wont yield many points.

Unfortunately company policy requires us to book cheapest non-flexible flight on outward leg and flexible on return leg, as I have no idea of my schedule for next few months i couldn't book further ahead.

Can anybody confirm based on their understanding whether a booking made on the 5th - where the outbound flight was on the 10th (prior to the flying period of the promotion) and the return flights on the 12th and 13th (within the flying period of the promotion) would still be eligible for double points on the return flights?

Or is it the case that since the outward leg was prior to the flying period for the promotion, the entire booking is invalid for the purposes of the promotion.

Thanks in advance!

I have had the opposite with DSC.
Flight out in the promo period and return wasnt. Got DSC for the flight out just fine.
