Double discount today?

Hi,
Just logged on to my EDR account, and where yesterday there were 3 x 4cpl discount entitlements, today they are all (3) 8cpl? Even though I go for points per litre, they generally show up as cpl discounts until they have been redeemed or expired - all of a sudden they have doubled from 4 to 8cpl.

I did buy some fresh food the other day which should have given me a 6cpl discount/3ppl which is why I have been keeping an eye on the account.

Anyone else having this? No email (the last email from Woolies was the $30 spend on fresh food for a 6cpl disc.)

There was a story on ACA or TT last night about this, and they were being backdated as well.

I'll need a big fill soon so for once it works for me.

They were advertising it on TV last night, I believe even the 4 cents off paper dockets will be honoured for 8 cents off. I think it ends in February some time.

In an industry first, Woolworths has announced it is to double its popular fuel discount to 8c off a litre while backdating the savings to any customer’s unredeemed dockets earned in the last 28 days.

From today, for a month, simply by spending $30 at any Woolworths supermarket customers will automatically see their fuel discount doubled from 4c off a litre to 8c off. Additionally, in an unprecedented move, customers can start saving straightaway with any unredeemed fuel dockets earned within the last 28 days also doubled from 4c to 8c a litre.

Really - it's just a move to copy Coles who have the 8cpl discounts already going up until Easter!

Don't know whether to be annoyed by the fact I filled a nearly empty tank two days ago, or grateful that I now have 3 vouchers to use with 8 cents a litre on them.

obviously the Coles promotion was hurting Woolies fuel sales. Our local Coles express/Shell claim they have never been busier and are ordering tanker refills twice as often as prior years!!

A typical tank for me will now earn 160 points, though still nothing on the big voucher that's just waiting on the tank to drain completely
