Hi. I joined up here to get information about Frequent Flyer Points. I keep hearing about friends' continued success using points for airfares but I am completely ignorant as to how one acquires the points in the first instance and then once you build up a bank of points, how do you spend them on air fares?!!! I am not a regular traveller but do earn points on my ANZ Telstra Viza and as my sons are now leaving the nest, my husband and I might just have some extra time to think about flying somewhere different. I'm sure any info will set me on the right track. Thank you.

Hi there & welcome to AFF!

1) spend more on the CC = more points accumulated

2) join a FF program (i assume the ANZ CC is linked to QFF)

3) more points you have = more flight trips redemption

4) check seat availability for award redemption

5) if available for FF award, book ticket & pay taxes

6) to increase FF accumulation, start flying more (as your kids have left the nest) as eligible sky miles earn you FF points - also depending on the FF program, spend more at their program partners.

Hope this helps!

Wel fisrt thing to do as I assume you are not QFF members is to have BOTh your husband and yourseld get an Earth card if you qualify..

This current deal gives you FREE membership to the QFF, saving $82;50 each...plus the AMEX card will double your earn rate from 0.5 to 1.0.

PLUS 15,000 points each = 30,000 points . So a great start.
