I recently completed J BNE--->PER and quite enjoyed the product on offer. Lounge Island dining, boarding, service on board and 3 course dinner were all WELL above expectations.

I am due to fly a few short/medium haul J flights and would like some advice/opinion on what to expect.

I will be flying on QF782 BNE--->CNS @ 1000. The guide says "refreshment" but surely a two hour flight in business class would allow for a meal of some sort?

I will also be flying QF548 SYD--->BNE @ 1905. I'm assuming this will be a basic dinner? I'll probably just do an Island Dining in J Lounge before hand?

Any thoughts/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Cheers, Jourdan.

I recently flew SYD-ADL in J at around the same time (1000) and I was given banana bread. It was very nice, but they do call it a light breakfast/morning tea.

As for SYD-BNE, I flew BNE-SYD in J last night (6.30pm) and I got chicken stew type thing with some polenta-consistency dukkah.

You really only get that "silver service" on flights over 3 hours in my experience (however limited that may be).

From my understanding, the time you fly determines which meal you are provided, and at 1000, it's too late for breakfast and too early for lunch. But sorry, I can't help in terms of what comprises a refreshment on the BNE-CNS sector in J. The few times I have the chance to do that sector in J on QF, I've purposely chosen proper meal-time flights the get the "full experience"

I can't imagine it helps, but they usually serve a cookie or cake as the 'refreshment' in Y on the BNE-CNS flights. Perhaps they offer an up-market "high tea" experience... scones with jam and cream...? There's plenty others here that should be able to help more specifically.

The only time I've ever done a business class flight was a refreshment flight, and they gave me some sort of bacon and egg pie. Quite nice actually =)

I've had a few of these refreshment flights in business class. Each time I've usually had quite a bit more food than what I would call a refreshment. But it's less than the Lunch or Dinner flights. I've had quiches, salads, breads, salmon, etc. I think you will enjoy! :D
