Domestic JASA's return - SC's Only

Then it must be this, then:

https://www.random.org

I'm imagining someone from Qantas IT has been reading all these threads and laughing maniacally at our hypotheses on promo targeting, all the while watching as their custom-built, high-speed random number generator is feeding numbers into the database...

I have a substantial number of points in my account but no offer for me. Not sure if I would do any runs even if I did get the offer. Reduced rate offered, lower earn rate from ADL (eg ADL SYD now 10, was 15 SC) doesn't seem like good value for me.

It's extremely unlikely but I do hope redroo clarifies the criteria. You would have thought that if it was a jasa apologetic, they would have (been authorised to have) disclosed it to and targeted it to AFFers and the like.

But if it's not a catch all promo, you can't leak it anywhere on the internet or everyone will jump on (ref: krisflyer 5k promo).

Most programs have promotions, and in my experience most never disclose how they target members for specific promotions. It's not a problem if you tie down the registration process, and don't make it a free for all.

This is hardly a JASA... Just SC at Economy level.

Makes it slightly worthwhile to use the points though. Given Qantas' high redemption fees, the points are basically skypesos otherwise.

I mean in Europe, the redemption fees on EI and BA are higher than rev tickets! £66 + 10,000 points vs £38 for a cash fare.

LAX and LHR return are almost as poor value, $800 in taxes/fuel fines in Y.

I see it as a way of holding some loyalty and helping to keep the planes loaded.
Our final JASA is on Monday to get to Perth.
I was sad that JASAs finished and some were pretty favorable to Qantas in the numbers of points needed to get SCs. Now that we are both Lifetime Gold we just book Classic J rides coast to coast for 72,000 points because we can.

Received today and hadn't seen this thread ... 9 pages on: so much for "exclusivity" ...!! ;)

Immediately ruled out my ANZAC flight to NZ next year on date-grounds ... then read it's for Domestic Y and J and International Y only.

Don't think I'll be availing myself of this one, this time.

Regards,

BD

perhaps targeted at those who have taken Classic flights previously, perhaps in the last 12 months.

not sure if I'm remembering correctly but wasn't the JASA killing announcement about this time last year ?

Yes they were available to book by June 30 last year and we are almost done.

My last Classic redemption (indeed, my last points spend at all) was Sep 2013, PQQ-SYD-CBR domestic Y.

I got this offer as well: fortuitously just as I was about to make a domestic J award booking. It won't make the slightest difference to my status or much else, but hey, I suppose something is always better than nothing...

I haven't received the offer either. I would use it if I did. Balance around 100k.

Very unlikely, don't think criteria have ever been disclosed previously.

I also wonder if it is targeted at those who need it (based on some formula) to requal in the short term. I am 400 SC off Plat requal with a end-Jul datel

I have never flown on a QF redemption myself. Or may be the target is for those who have previously redeemed a seat on a OW partner flight?

Not in my case. Sitting at ~ 2K SC with reset end of May

No email for me :-|.

Currently half way into my QFF year with about 215k points. I suspect I didn't receive the offer this time as I have about 6 QF flights booked in the next month or two. Maybe this offer is to encourage people who do not have any/many QF flight(s) booked to spend their points?

I have QF flights booked in June. Hubby = none. Neither of us received the email..
