Please excuse post but I can't seem to find an answer.

Its been a long time since I booked a QF domestic flight in Y, usually flying Jetstar.

We are both QF Gold. Could anybody help me with what seats can I expect to be able to select, if any? Is it possible to select exit row? Don't mind paying extra if necessary.

We're flying BNE/MEL and husband is tall so extra space is good.

Thanks for help with this.

You'll be able to select exit row or around 1/3 back from the front row in economy onwards

Advance seat selection on domestic flights is free for all passengers (regardless of status) so after you complete your booking go straight to select your seat.

As a Gold myself I've always found at least one section of exit row seats available to be selected for free - whether this is happy coincidence or a status benefit I'm sure another member can confirm.

Do you know what aircraft you will be travelling on? If it's the B738 I'd wait for row 4 to open up at T-80 - these seats are fantastic as they are the first row of economy and have incredible legroom and unlimited knee space, carry-on bags can be stored under the business class seat in front of you (when seated in the exit rows they must go up in the overhead lockers), and you'll be among the first to disembark.

Thanks every one for your quick replies. That's just the info I needed.

I think its B738 so I will try for those row 4 seats at T-80. In the meantime I'll try for the exit rows.

I guess there's no way of knowing what is available before I book. When i do a dummy booking on Jetstar I can select seats before paying. I tried this on QF but had to pay before seat selection.

You can always try Expert Flyer to bring up seat maps prior to booking
