Hi Folks,

I have never flown a business flight before so sorry for the noob question BUT I have my first ever business flight from Melbourne to Brisbane (then onward to Bundy) in November on a QF 737-800. Do you have any tips on how to get the most out of the business class flight?

Cheers,

Nik

Well get to MEL AP early to enjoy the J lounge, enter the regular Qantas lounge and walk straight down to the back to enter the magic door to the J lounge.

Enjoy the superior class of food and beverages and then walk to your gate to enjoy priority boarding (PB). Complain here if it doesn't work.

Upon arrival at BNE enjoy disembarking before the Y passengers and then rinse and repeat the lounge experience (note at BNE the J lounge is on the right). Enjoy PB again and then write a TR. :)

Oh nice, thanks for the tip @Hvr - I wouldn't have know any of this! We are really looking forward to it. I look forward to the day I get to experience it internationally.

...another newbie Question for you though, what's a TR?

A TR is a trip report. A quick write up on your journey and how you enjoyed it.

Select your seat online if you haven't already done so...

If the flight to BDB isn't in J (aren't all services there Y?) and niiiiiiiiiik isn't a lounge member, I'm not sure he's entitled to arrivals access. Can you confirm? The first ticket being J, no worries, but the second being even full Y would be an issue.

I did indeed AIRwin, got row 3 as all other rows were taken!

They might not actually be taken if you check again a few days out from your flight, but it's a status block right now where you can't see forward any further.

Row 3 is a fun row because you get to recline into the WPs in row 4. It is also quite private.
Avoid Row 3 aisle because attendants often charge through and flick the curtain on you.

We fly in from Bangkok that morning so we will have to spend some extra time in the lounge instead of going home and returning to Melbourne airport. Get the most out of it!

although even with full recline there is loads of space for the wp considering there is more legroom in row 4 than there is in row 3
