I've seen it in the USA, with a German Shepherd-sized mutt in the cabin, part in the footwell and part in the walkway, and not secured to anything. Ridiculously dangerous, if you ask me. Even on a normal flight, we're having to take the owner's word for the docility and controllability of the animal, and if there's an emergency, you end up with a seriously pi$$ed-off / scared 50 lb object with teeth flying round in the cabin.....
